RE: Galaxy S3 using the default Home screen launcher (not using a 3rd party launcher)
I currently use My Backup Pro (bought the Pro version) to backup SMS msgs, all apps and data to the ext SD card.
However, I have spent a great deal of time organizing my apps into folders across all seven screens as well as widget placement according to usage need, etc. I have also changed alot of settings on the phone via the menu key/Settings area. I *do not* want to have redo all of this if I have to do a factory reset.

I am looking for an app that will backup all personalizations of my phone. I want to include all Settings changes, (ie..."show battery usage as a percentage on status bar" is checked 'on'., etc) my current custom wallpaper, my layouts of all 7 of my screens, the folders on them and the apps contained in each of my customized folders, along with the widgets on the screens. Ultimately, when I do a factory reset, I can do an app restore, then second, pull the 2nd backup data file that will restore all of my screes, widgets, wallpaper, folders, etc. as well as the apps that I kept in each of the folders.

Thank you for your help.

Try Helium from the Play Store. It's free and doesn't require you to be rooted.

Sent from my HTCONE using AC Forums mobile app

If you'd consider an alternative launcher, Nova has the ability to back up all it's data, screen layouts, etc.

are you rooted? / do you know what being rooted is? if you are rooted, you can perform a nandroid backup. it will backup your phone's settings and customizations to exactly the way you have it. so in the future if you have to do a factory reset. you can always restore your exact settings and so forthe from the nandroid backup.

is your phone rooted?

Helium's decription in the Google Store entry does not say whether it backs up screen layouts, custom folders/contents as well as widgets placed on pages. What *is* mentioned in the description for Helium is everything that "MyBackUp Pro" (from RerWare) is doing now, and MyBackUp Pro is what I am using currently.

The personalization of the seven scrrens and what is on those screens (folders/icons) is what I am trying to backup.
My apps get backed up just fine, but if have to do a factory reset, I have to re-create all my folders, and completely re-build my screen layouts from scratch. That takes a long time to do.
