App to turn off screen/power down w/o using side button?

I tried doing a search (screen, off, screen+off) no luck.

I want to have an app that will turn off the phone (or at least the screen), but the one I've been using on my EVO doesn't work here. I was using TURN OFF THE LIGHTS to turn off the phone, and it "kind of" works. It will turn off the phone...for about a second, and then the lock screen pops back on. It sits there for the alloted time, and then goes off.

I am running ADW Launcher EX and I have Widget Locker on, but I doubt either of those are the issue. I thought I read somewhere that there was an ICS issue with being able to turn off the screen (but I've read so many forum threads lately, I can't place how accurate that memory is).

Does anyone have an app that works for this? Or know of a setting tweak that would allow my app to work?

I just want to be able to click a button/icon and have the phone turn off, so I don't have to click the physical button (just a personal choice).

I used Scren Off on my EVO. When I installed it on my S III, pressing the button would turn the screen off, but it would quickly turn back on and then off again.

The dev recently updated it and now it works without issue. I have the icon on the bottom right of my dock. Tap and pocket. I love it.

And I love the "old tv style" screen turn off. Just fun.

How did you get this to work on the GS3? I went to install it and it says "not compatible" with the GS3.

I'd like to know this too. I'm guessing the dev took GSIII support off recently because he was getting a number of GSIII 1 star ratings. Hopefully a quick fix will have it back available.

This would be great to have set to the double tap on homescreen gesture. That way, with the phone on a desk, one press of the home button turns it on and a double tap of the home screen would turn it back off.
