Question App Uninstall

How is Android (i.e. 15) at uninstalling apps? Unlike Windows, is Android still good at uninstalling everything (i.e. no orphan files, settings, services, etc.)? Or is an uninstaller app like Revo recommended?

to completely install without an orphan file, you can clear cash and clear data before uninstalling, tap on "Storage". Tap on "Clear cache" and then tap on "Clear data".

This is really a difficult question to answer now that Google has taken away the ability to see your root directory where your application folders are located. I used to be back in Eclair, FroYo, and maybe even Gingerbread that you could see two directories, the OS directory and the User directory. While your access was limited in the OS directory but you could see the app folders and remove the orphan items. Even if they were just empty folders. Since we can no longer see these things we can only hope that the system is doing it right. steffi's suggestion is a good one I would just add the step of Force Stopping the app first. A lot of times if you go through your app list and clear the cache you will see it repopulate right away, with something. By Force stopping it first, you're hopefully preventing this repopulation because the app is in an idle state. In this case I could see the benefit of downloading an app that does uninstalls, using it and dumping it, not allowing it to remain installed after use. I mean how often do we uninstall apps, right.
