AppBrain won't Sync with phone

I've downloaded AppBrain from the Android market, logged into my account, clicked sync on my phone but it doesn't sync any of the apps.

Did you download and install the Fast Web Installer? If not do so.

The trick is to not lock the phone or let it go to sleep. If you have the fast web installer installed it will just start downloading eventually. Just be patient ;)

I have that installed. When I click sync it does and then no new apps are added to the list on my phone. It's just the stuff that is pre-installed.

I read somewhere that someone had luck by adding the app to the "on my phone" list. Its the drop down selector right next to "install" on the appbrain website.

I had some trouble getting it to download as well, but it eventually went. You might cancel your pending installs and start over.

OK, figured out the problem. You MUST (?) have the apps you want to install on the 'Apps on the phone' list, and not a custom list. At least that's what worked for me. As soon as I added apps to that list they showed up when I went to sync.

Since I'm new to this Android stuff, is there a way to decide what apps load when I turn my phone on? I'm noticing a lot of the AT&T bloatware is loading when it turns on. Would love to toggle those off.

Glad you figured it out.

The AT&T stuff is on there no matter what you do. You can root and then there are options for getting rid of the "bloatware", but if you are new to android I would suggest waiting a while before you go diving into all that.

Is there any way to keep apps from starting when I turn my phone on? Mainly the AT&T apps? Or perhaps a way to turn them off (if I can't uninstall them)?

Your best bet is to get a task killer from the market and kill them all when you turn on your phone. Obviously the other way is to uninstall them through rooting.
