Samsung do sent charge $849 for the S3 which can do 64GB SdCard, 96 GB total. Think about that. $850 off contact for 64GB iPhone or $650 for a 96GB GS3.

Not sure what point you're trying to make. I said smartphones are similarly priced outside of the Galaxy Nexus. Not the same, but similar.

Apple isn't overpriced, especially with their iOS devices. iPhones, iPads, and iPods fall right in line with the industry average.

Just saying you can get 32GB more storage for a bill less than the biggest iPhone. Also I wouldn't say apple charges the industry average. I mean how is $850 for the biggest iPhone compare to the $650 Android phones cost. Plus like the S3 includes expandable storage which makes the capacity technically unlimited.

Also, apple prices the phones the way they do to steer people into getting subsidized handsets, plain and simple. They may have terms in the contracts with carriers where they actually make more money off of subsidized handsets than unlocked ones.

Here is the sprint page for a off contract GS3 at $599. Add it to the $80 on amazon for a 64GB sdcard. And you get 96GB for $679. A full $170 cheaper than a 64GB iPhone. Only apple makes a 64GB phone but that's it, no expanding its memory. Price: $849

Apple's current available non-contract lineup goes from $375 to $850. Pretty much the same range that most smartphones fall in.

And subsidized, pricing for Apple products falls into the same range as all other smartphones.

Did you even look at the pics I just took from sprints site? $399 for a 64GB iPhone 4S and 2yr contract, vs $249 for a 32GB GS3. Add the $80 64GB MicroSDCard from Amazon and its 32GB more for $329 total. How hard is that to understand? I'm comparing the 4S not the 4 or 3GS. Its the top Apple compared to the top Android and Apple is always more expensive.

It is nice to see the 200 dollar Nexus7 being compared to the ipad3 when

IPhone 4s 64GB $849 off contract(Sprint)
GS3 32 GB $599 off contract(Sprint)
32GB and $250 difference.
You can buy 3 64GB Micro SD cards for $240 off Amazon.
Difference is:
$849 64 GB iPhone
$839 224GB GS3

That proves that Apple isn't priced the same or even competitively.

Apple iPhone 4S 16GB, AT&T - $199

Granted, full-retail on the HTC One X 16GB, AT&T is only $549 (those are still locked right, you have to go through extra steps to get it unlocked I think) and the unlocked iPhone 4S 16GB is $649.

Also, the storage argument is sort of misleading on Android. On an iPhone, the rest of the available memory for all of the user's data. On most Android phones, app storage space isn't always what you expect it to be.

And on Android, not all phones have expandable memory.

My point- iOS devices fall in line.

Most people here in the US buy their phones on contract. And on- or off-contract, Apple's pricing is similar.

My Bionic was $300 on-contract when it came out. The iPhone 4S 16GB was $200 on-contract when it came out.

Uh. The third generation iPad starts at $499 for 16GB.

Look at all of the relevant Android tablets that aren't the Nexus 7 or Kindle Fire. Yep, pricing similar to that of the iPad's.

You did hear that oracle lost their suit against Google, right. Also apple isn't suing Google, just manufactures that make android devices. And again Google do sent pay Microsoft, HTC, samsung, Motorola and others pay them. Which brings the biggest problem, apple won't license anything. They don't want competition, even though they could make hundreds of millions of dollars extra a year.

I see your problem. Your comparing things to your bionic. Maybe Verizon's pricing is different. But like I said I'm comparing the top Android phone to the top iOS phone. And right now the GS3 happens to be the top. The one x is a good phone and the galaxy nexus still holds it own, but they are old news.

Also you even say the one x is $549 off contract and the same size iPhone is $649 off contract. You don't see the Apple tax?

Also, yes the internal storage can be misleading. But with expandable memory who cares.

I paid $299 for my tbolt that I kept for 9 months. It was an OK phone, came with a 32GB card and 8GB usable internal.

I just can't see your point that apples devices fall in line with the rest of the industry. Saying the ipad2 is $399 don't mean anything when compared to new gen tablets. That's like saying a 2010 Benz is as good as a 2013 Genesis because they are worth the same. I mean compare apples to apples and use each companies latest products not old ones.

And currently the 2 most popular tablets from both sides are
the ipad3 and Nexus7.
