I actually think this has a lot of potential regardless of who does it first. But how cool would it be to have a mod port on your laptop where the phone was the processor?

Motorola already did that with Lapdock back in the day.
 
Hmm, that's quite interesting!

Are you referring an external processor? The devices CPU working through a cable to help a laptop perform better?
 
Ahh, it still seems interesting-ish. It isn't necessarily a "new" idea but it's kinda cool

I had that back in 2011 on my Motorola Photon and never cared to use it-it worked fine for browsing, etc. but I simply had no need for it. Now that iPhone "came up" with this, we'll see higher demand and hype :)
kidding aside, both AOSP and iOS are far more capable now, so we can definitely expect some nice implementation.
 
I used my Lapdock a lot with my DROID Bionic.
