Apple has to start over here, is this good for us now, or just a delay?

U.S. judge tosses Apple vs. Google lawsuit over patents - Yahoo! News

I'm sure you've seen it, just thinking with the Microsoft suit going forward, and this at least delaying Apple, Google now has a window of opportunity. Any thoughts on it?

Apple must have some real geniuses involved in their legal strategy. They asked the courts to rule how much the royalties would be then said if it is more than $1 per device we'll ignore the ruling anyway. And the judge basically said if you won't be bound by my ruling it is a waste of my time making it.

Motorola and Apple are still going to have to go to court to settle this patent dispute so it isn't much of a win for Google/Motorola, but still Apple's attitude does kind of make them look bad so it's perhaps a PR win for Google more than anything else.
