I have used Apple music from fay 1 on Android I am a little disappointed that the best part of 2 years on it still feels like it is in beta.

In addition to general performance (slow library loading etc) and having used it on many devices (BB priv, Samsung S7e x2, S8, S8+ Oneplus 5, LG G6) Have the following consistent issues.

1 - If I try and and download a high(ish) number of songs it will always hang and crash the app. I will then have to go back in figure out where it crashed and restart the download. When I say high I mean anything over 30-40 songs.

2 - It does not play nice with show downloaded music only and playlist folders. The order of playlists is Apple Music ones - Folders - My own created playlists. If I select downloaded music only it will the show apple music playlists but cut off half way down the folders so will not show any of my own playlists. Has done this on every version

3 - Sound quality. Not tested it scientifically and maybe the general shoddiness of the app is influencing me but it does not sound as good as say Spotify does, which is the opposite of my view when running both apps on iOS

How is everyone else finding it?

I do want to retain Apple Music as my main service, my family all use it (under family membership) and I have all my own music in the cloud too. Right now though I am running Spotify alongside it.

Of the software products Apple develops for non-Apple platforms... which is a very short list, mind you... they are usually all trash. iTunes on Windows is still an uncontrolled dumpster fire and it's been how many years now? They are probably going to put in the absolute minimum to keep the Apple Music Android app functional, but other than that, I wouldn't hold my breath.

i just switched from spotify to apple music and am having a hard time with one feature that seems to be missing: control from multiple devices. if i open itunes on my imac then pick up my ipad and open music i get two separate streams. with spotify the ipad would simply take control of playback. and if i opened spotify on my android then i'd be able to play from that device. if i open apple music on my phone and ipad and computer i end up with three separate streams playing. seems silly. but i do love that they uploaded my entire 12,000 track itunes library to the cloud. may switch back to spotify after trial ends. i prefer their interface. the radio and related artists seemed to make it easier to discover new music. but i am still very new to apples interface.

I use Apple Music on my S7 Edge and iPad Air 2, on both Android and iOS the app needs work, it crashes weekly on my iPad, in fact it has crashed more times on my iPad than my S7 Edge.

Apple have really dropped the ball on it. The app just feels half-baked in general on both platforms.

I am just waiting for them to fix it but it feels like it will be a long wait!

The way it handles local downloads is the biggest issue for me as stated above, still is. I now use spotify.
