AppleTV IR remote program?

One owners, can you program your AppleTV (assuming you owe one), with the HTC one IR remote?

I just tried. It should work. I used the apple remote to try to program the appropriated buttons (up, down, menu) my one seems to get the signal, but the button doesn't work. The remote works great on my tvs and cable boxes. Not sure what's going on. Anyone else have any luck setting up Apple TV?

Thank you so much ok. It was like last week that the sales were not in stock for the HTC One's website. I'm sure if anything, the HTC One can be programmed to learn the IR codes from the Apple TV remote.

I got mine to work. I found it helped to get the two remotes as close as possible. Really it was easiest to have it learn from my comcast remote that I had programed but straight from Apple remote worked too.

Which buttons did you set for the Apple TV? Is there a way to add a 4th device at all?

I just set up, down, left, right and play/pause button
It works great

htc one works great with tv and cable boxes and recognizes apple tv remote when trying to program the buttons, but then the buttons don't work when testing them

The default remote app on the HTC One left something to be desired in terms of programability, I was looking to control various appliances as well as my mac. So I tried an app called Smart IR remote, it works exceptionally well. Learns from other remotes well - and has an incredibly deep library of pre-programmed devices (it even had my window fan covered!)

I read in this thread ( http://forums.androidcentral.com/showthread.php?t=305886 ) the app was removed from the play store for legal reasons.
