Application (task) switcher

Can someone recommend a simple application switcher app that shows the apps that are currently running and enables switching without closing an app?

The easiest way to switch recent applications is to long-press the home button. You'll see the last six applications opened.

A quick search at AppBrain shows a number of tools but I haven't used any of them.

I don't know how feasible this is in the OS. The home button works as described above, but getting a full list of what is running is misleading because FroYo preloads apps it expects you to use and caches them in memory.
