Hello everyone. I have a Sprint Epic 4G Touch and have been having a battery drain problem for like 6 months. I finally decided to flash the rom to a rooted 2.3.6 stock. I followed qbking77 instructions. THe biggest issue is that I am noticing that even if the phone sits idle with very good cell signal and full wifi bars, my phone will drain battery like 20% in an hour. When I check the battery stats it says that Android OS has teh most percentage used. The issue is I can understand what process is actually running in the background eating up my battery life. Is there an app that monitors individual processes and can tell me which one is constantly running? Thank you.

Hi,

have you tried Juice Defender?

If any app can do what you want, it should be this.
In addition to the stable release, which costs 5€, there is also a free Beta - you might install that and see whether it has what you need.

Regards,

Jochen

I use Juice Defender... There is a free version in the Google Play store. It works very well. It will turn off unnecessary operations when idle and only turn them on when needed.

Also, make sure all apps are closed completely and all browser windows are closed (use your back button to close everything completely). Adjust your screen brightness accordingly or set it to automatic, it will also be easier on your eyes when in less light if you turn your screen down low. Your display timer should also be set to a reasonable time. If your phone isn't being used, your screen doesn't need to be on. Use a dark colored wallpaper, the fewer colors on the screen, less power it will use. Avoid using Live Wallpapers, the constant motions use power.
