I'm seeing this notification:
I know that I could long-press it and choose to not get any such notifications any more, but I don't want to go that far. What I'd like to do is 'tell Android' that it doesn't need to notify me about Tasker and Whatsapp running in the background. I fully expect it of them, and there's one or two more that I'd like to allow to run in the background as much as they like. Likewise there are some I'd be perfectly happy to stop them running in the background if they try.
Is there somewhere I can specify each app can or can't run in the background and that any I've said can run in the background result in no notification, and any I've said that can't are stopped from doing so but also don't give me any notification, and any I haven't made a choice (can or can't) do give me a notification until I make that choice.
It seems that this notification is currently pointless. It doesn't offer me anything I can do about it.
It's an S8 running Android 8.0.0 and is not rooted.
