Apps being killed in background?

Moved from G6 to 6T, love the 6T. But have encountered something that seems strange. I have MacroDroid running, sits in background. Works fine on my device, but not on my wife's.

Had no issues with G6, or any other prior phone. But since moving to 6T MacroDroid just stops running on her phone. Anyone know if there's a setting now that causes apps in background to be killed if no activity after certain amount of time?

Have you ensured the exclusion of MacDroid in Battery Optimisation, (Optimization), and are you using, "Smart Boost", in the OnePlus Laboratory?

Also, if you have enabled. "Developer options", on the phone, have you accidentally set, "Background process limit", to anything other than the standard limit?

Both devices are set up the same, MacDroid is not excluded from optimization in either. Yet MD doesn't get stopped on my phone but is on wife's. Not using anything in the OnePlus lab on either. And I haven't enabled developer mode on her device. So search continues to find out why process is killed on her phone. Thanks

Android will shut down apps and systems operations if the resources are been overloaded, could you're wife's device resources be overloaded?

Uninstall MacroDroid > Reboot > Reinstall MacroDroid > Reboot? If you haven't done this it couldn't hurt to try.

Hers has a lot less than mine, that's for sure. And her old G6 would have had more of issue than the roomier 6T. So don't think that's the case.

The uninstall and imstall seems to have fixed the problem. Been running since reinstalling early this afternoon.

And as luck would have it, MacDroid process was killed again. So much for the reinstall fixing the problem. The search continues...m

Same issue I was having with the phone. Seems that it's not that great at ram management. Very frustrating.

I guess I would try and pinpoint when it is closing. Maybe it's a certain app (maybe it's something like a bunch of ****ty ads on a website with auto-playing content and she has multiple tabs open). Resolving the issue with the app eating the resources which causes the shutting down of MacroDroid might be worth investigating.
