Apps can't install.

I have a Samsung Galaxy SM-J110F using Android 4.4.4. It seems to be able to download apps but can't install any (error code - 110). In some cases it gives a note "can't open file". I tried everything I could find on the net, but nothing works. It started about a week ago. No storage space problem. My wife has exactly the same setup and no problems there. Can you help please.
 
Go to: Settings –> Application Manager –> Google Play Store –> Force Stop.
Settings –> Application Manager –> Google Play Store –> Clear Data.
Settings –> Application Manager –> Google Play Store –> Clear Cache.
Look for Google Service Framework (Google Play Services).
Now Clear Data and Clear Cache.
Now Reboot your device and open Google play store.

you installed from Google Play store and the app version is compatible with your device, right?
Try using File Manager app instead of built-in Downloads app to open apk
 
skysoaring. Thank you for your trouble, but nothing changed. Google Play Store and Google Play Services had no data or cache to clear. The clear buttons are in gray. Tried using File Manager app with the same results.
