Apps closing by themselves

I have a nexus 5 6.0.1 with i believe marshmallow and anything I open will eventually close unexpectedly. I tried clearing the cache with no luck.

Welcome to Android Central! Do you mean you cleared the system cache partition, or just the app cache? Do you have an "RAM booster" or 3rd party battery-saver apps installed?
