Hi all,
I am new to the posting in this forum and also new to android and I have a question I would like to ask.
I recently bought the samsung galaxy s3 and I have noticed that when I search for some apps in the play store, they just are not there.

An example is rayman jungle run. When I search for it I cannot find it along with a few other games that also seem to be missing. Now I am not sure if it has to do with the Australian play store (I am from Australia by the way) or my carrier (Telstra).

So I was just wondering why some apps seem to be missing when I know they are out on the android store but I cannot find them with my phone.

Thank you.

You may want to try searching the Play store from your computer as I've found it's sometimes easier to search and see what you're looking for.
I found four apps that match your search term (there are more, just not shown on the search results output). Saved a screenshot from my view, but for some reason can't upload local files to the forum at the moment (Edit. Used Manage Attachments feature to upload screenshots). Have a similar screenshot from my phone (Galaxy S3 as well :)). Another tip that may help is to search for the leading few characters or words and let the Play store search function auto populate with potential matches. Then you can select the one that most closely matches your intent.
So, it could be that some of these apps are not available in your Play store view per regional offerings. Sorry I can't be of more help at the moment as I'm not familiar with regional or carrier specific aspects for the Play store.

Hi thanks for the reply.
I have tried all combination of characters but the missing apps just seem to not be there. Yet when I go on my computer on the play store, the apps are all there. If I download them from my desktop computer, would they appear on my phone?

No problem. I just uploaded some screenshot examples. You're seeing what I'm seeing on the computer side of things. This is a good sign. One cool feature in Play is that once you are signed into Play with your Google account, you can select to install the app to your phone from Play. The app gets installed via the Play route same as if you chose to install it from Play while on your phone (there are probably some deeper technical differences on the install processes, but none to worry about).

The last part of your question makes sense from a traditional desktop computing mindset where one downloads a file, installer, picture, movie, etc. The same exists for Android via what's called Sideloading. This process essentially bypasses the framework and advantages provided by the Play store ecosystem. I don't use the Sideloading method, but I understand it may come with some risks so if you are getting started in the Android world then sticking with the Play store is a best option (via your computer or phone).
