I have a Samsung S10+ unrooted on AT&T and I recently updated to Android 11. I updated the Firefox app(I use it because it was the only program I've found that can load a saved html file with pictures) my problem now is that the new update removed that feature and I want to revert back to the previous version. I found one on Mozilla's website. I've uninstalled the goggle play version, I try to install the apk and it fails. When I go back to Google and click install there is no downloading it immediately goes to app installed. This leads me to believe that my phone is retaining the app and not actually removing it. When I go to the systems data folder to try and manually remove the com folder there's nothing there anymore. I've used a file manager to locate the com folder and it says it is in the data folder but access is denied. Did 11 do something to restrict access to this folder or do I have another problem, such as a possible virus? I have more than one virus and malware scanner and they all come back clean. Can someone please help? Firefox appears to be the only app doing this, as a test I removed another app and reinstalled it and it goes through the install process. As a side note firefox is not my default browser, brave is.

Android 11 did introduce something called scoped storage to kind of compartmentalise data between apps. I can't really explain it properly. I don't know if that is causing an issue. I often use an app called Unapp to delete apps. You could try that.

Maybe clearing the app cache and rebooting is worth a try. I'm stuck on 9.0, and this clears up the occasional glitch after updates.

If you like to use Firefox previous version you would need to Uninstall Firefox then use the APK

Welcome to the forums. You could try these steps. Install Firefox from the Play Store and open it. Go to your security settings - Device Admin Apps and make sure that it's not selected there. Then go to settings - apps - select Firefox - Force stop - clear Defaults (if any) - clear Storage and Uninstall. Now see if you can install the older apk.
