Android Central Question

Since the "update" to Android 11, I've been having a lot of issues with apps on SD card. Some just log me out every time I close them, others always download something every time I open them, and some just outright crash. All this seems to point to the apps losing their data every time they are closed for some reason. I've never had such problems using Android 10. Does anyone experience anything similar? Is there a way to fix this?

Is there a way to fix this?

Don't use the SD card for apps. I'm serious. Just because it can be done doesn't mean it's a good idea, and it isn't. SD cards are MUCH slower than internal storage, you don't get as much space freed up as you think you will, the app is more at risk for data corruption (as you're finding). There's a reason Google has been reluctant to support moving apps to SD cards in recent years - it's just not worth it.

Use the SD card to store images, videos and other files you might want to access and leave the internal storage for your apps.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Did you format the card as Internal Storage or Portable Storage?

I agree with hallux's analysis above.
