Hi guys, I've had my note 8 for a well, I've moved all of the apps that are able to moved to the sd card, however, when I looked at some of the apps today, a few moved back to internal storage, any ideas on this? Thank you

With at least 64GB device storage (depending on your location on the planet), not sure why you would even need to put any apps on the SD card.

When you transfer an app to storage, it doesn't transfer the whole app - only the data portion, I believe- and even then, when an app updates it goes back to internal storage. There's no way around that

I haven't been able to figure out how to move/install apps on the SD card on the N8.

Pretty sure I did that on my N4 (don't remember on the N3, obviously not w/the 5, and never got the chance to try with the N7's), but I don't remember updates installing to the device. Seems pretty pointless to have the ability in the 1st place then, no?.

(Fellow South Jersey-ite :) Can I ask where?)

Surprisingly few apps can be moved to SD card, but for example Netflix can be so practice with that if you have it or Adobe Acrobat.

Settings
Apps
Select app
Scroll down to Storage
Storage used (choose SD card)
Move

Apps can be moved to SD card, that's true, it just won't transfer the entire app, only a portion of it. Samsung disabled adoptable storage in their devices, so you can't use the SD card in the same sense where you can transfer the entire app to the SD card. Every time that app needs to be updated, it will be moved back to internal storage and you would have to move it back if you wish. I just leave all my apps in internal. No reason for me to have any in my SD card as there is plenty of storage on the phone to accommodate for my apps. Only my music and photos stay on the SD card.

You can go in the developer option and change the settings to put any app on your sd card. I still haven't figured out how to prevent the apps from jumping back to the internal when updating.

as iva explained fairly good, it's 2 different types of storage, it was possible back in Note 3 days if you had root etc.to kinda fool the phone not to know the difference between internal/external memory but not anymore, but as asked already.... why would you need it

When UFS internal storage offers more than 500MB/sec reads and half that for writes, what's needed is.... 128 or 256GB of internal, not SD.
