I'm new to androids coming from iPhone... and what apps are you actually using or would recommend on your HTC One X. Right now I have swift X for my keyboard and I just downloaded Apex Launcher Pro, and from there what else would you recommend? Thanks:)

I use my phone of work/staying organized, talking texting, messenging, staying inform with news and tech. And I love customization.

handcent sms, evernote, dropbox, cam scanner, cam card, google music, bgr, engadget, cnet, and mashable is a good start

Both dropbox and evernote have built in support on the HOX line. The notes app that comes on the phone is an evernote client.

As for the others instead of clogging up your phone installing all those site specific apps, try out Currents, or Pulse for one stop shopping.

thanks you guys. I read somewhere about task killer, is that really necessary to have on this device with multi-tasking, if so which one is the best?

Since we're app recommending...

I used Remoter VNC on my iPhone and still use it on my iPad. They don't make it for Android though.

Has anyone used this app and, could you recommend an equivalent for Android?

I know there's a ton of these apps out there but seeing if someone used this specific one and has an Android recommendation. Thanks!

Start with the free ones snd try a few out. I've used one in the past on my tablet, but can't remember the details. Check the ratings in the market.

Thanks. Yep, I've tried a few out but none of the free ones seem to offer the same experience. Hence why I asked if anyone here used this app in particular and knew of an Android equivalent :)

1 - There are some lists which have good choices for base apps, google search "best android apps".
2 - Amazon has a paid App for Free every day ( a great way to try out lots of Apps) search for "amazon free app"
3 - And my favorite :) elusivestars.com has an App that registers your phone so Developers can contact you to test their Apps and you can even make a little extra money. (full disclosure, I am the founder of elusivestars.

First apps I installed were:

Locate My Droid (Find my iPhone equivalent)
Facebook
Twitter
Chrome beta
Dropbox
ESPN ScoreCenter
Pocket (Formerly Read it Later)
HBO GO
QuickBooks
Starbucks
MobiDeals
FlipBoard (Officially only for the new Galaxy 3 but the apk for it out in the wild)

Jorte or aCalendar, I am a fan of catch and shazam, and Zedge for wallpaper and ringtones.
