Apps redownload themselves

Everytime I hard reset my phone, my applications redownload on their own. I do not want this. I uncheck the back up my data option under privacy and it still happens. How can I stop this?

i was just going to ask the same thing. IM using a Droid X and every time I do a wipe and reset and sign in with my gmail ID everything goes right back to the way it was.

Ive also unchecked the data backup option.

also for me............ an old wallpaper that isnt even on my phone anymore is always back once i have done the wipe/reset and re sign-in.

When I had to reset my EVO I made sure to uninstall apps I no longer wanted before doing the reset. I also did a sync with AppBrain prior to reset. After the reset only the apps I wanted were downloaded.

I skipped the initial log in screen and it worked. Just had to go back and log in.

After you activate the phone, there is a log in screen. Press menu at that login screen and hit disable restore, that does the trick.
