Is there a list? I'm about to factory reset my phone because it will not sleep no matter what I do, and I don't want to do a reset only to have the same problem again.

I know that some people have fixed the no sleep problem with a reset, but I read something about Facebook and calendar both having these issues. How do I set my phone up without those apps flipping out on me.

Chess.com app was keeping my 3g connection constantly going and eating my battery. The strange part is the phone still "slept" meaning my awake time was less than my up time.

Some have stated that if your awake time = up time, your phone is not sleeping, and therefore causing battery drain. The theory was this was a cause of the calendar app that comes on the phone.

It still could be....but it isn't the only thing that can cause battery drain, even if your phone is "sleeping"...

Is the terms "sleep" on this phone simply referring to when your screen is off and you must hit the top button?

ok, I reset 2 hours ago, and it made no difference... I'm still uptime and awake time 1:1

what the hell?

You did a factory reset or soft reset?

Can you list all installed third party apps?

factory reset

all third party installed 3rd party apps: none

I didn't even set up facebook (neither android or htc)

As taboo as it may be I had the same issue and I have a task killer running and it has drastically increased my battery life.

I tried Advanced Task Killer last week. I also tried System Panel. Neither made any noticeable difference.

Do this for me. *#*#4636#*#*, battery history, on the top bar select partial wake. See what's keeping the phone awake. Post what that says so we can see what's going on.

I doubt this is useful, as I just bump charged it. And... I factory reset it today.

Total in all time:

Mail 13m 59s

Android System 8m 6s

Media 2m 52s

Calendar 1m 12s

Dialer 1m 9s

Google 35s

Internet 5s

Ok, you went in and got the time for each. My fault. ok, mail maybe just because it is trying to sync. Android system should be on top. Don't seem like too much is keeping it awake. What's trying to sync in the mail. Look at it stygian to see if it has changed any.

Well if its push service, then theres no syncing involved.

OP, maybe try downloading Systempanel and seeing what is actively opened?

I have read that the stock calender sometimes causes sleeping problems, but was resolved after a hard reset. It looks like this didn't work for you so this probably wasn't the problem

since taking it off the usb this morning (I wanted to add some custom notification sounds from my work machine)...

Up Time 5:12:59

Awake Time 5:07:20

This is far better than the true 1:1 I was getting before the reset I did, but it's certainly not ideal.

Partial Wake Usage - Total Since Boot

Android System 11m 57s

Media 2m 52s

Mail 2m 34s

Dialer 52s

Calendar 36s

Handcent SMS 35s

Google 25s

Internet 9s

So, at this stage, I can't figure out what could possibly be keeping my phone awake. Today is the first day with my Seidio 1750, so we'll see how that changes things.

^ Refer to my post above about Systempanel

Anything close to 1:1 is bad and shouldn't be happening.
