Apps that require you to currently use the menu button?

How would apps that require you to currently use the menu button work?
I know the new default apps have the action bar but what about apps that havent been updated. How would you press menu?
Did they mention that?

in honeycomb a new button comes up next to the other soft keys to give you access to that menu

...i would assume ics does the same thing

Yes. I doubt Google just alienated 100% of it's apps by not allowing people to use a "menu" button. It's probably just like it works in Honeycomb: a menu button pops up in the bottom. I'm sure this is how it is.
