This seems to be rolling out to some variants.

I just received it on my Vodacom (Vodafone South Africa) Note8 (N950F Exynos)

EDIT: This is the 1st Security Update within Oreo

That seems like a pretty large file for a security update. Interesting....

Funnily the BTU one ( unlocked UK) was 550mb.

My UK EE carrier one was 30mb.

Interesting, reading this thread, I checked my phone. Set to download automatically, but hadn't. Started when I hit the manual option.

560Mb btw, unlocked, in Thailand.

Interesting that this update seems to be so small in size. I got the April 1 update on my factory unlocked S7 Edge yesterday and it was if I remember correctly, over 300MB.

Difference in update size is kinda strange as we shold all be on March patch after Oreo update

Yeah strange. I was on the march patch after Oreo as expected.
Those of us on April Security Update were already on the Oreo update with March patch, this is our 1st Security Update after the Oreo update.. ;)

The difference in sizes is due to different network setups and Chips etc. Some of us have Exynos while others have Snapdragon, some have single SIM and other have dual SIM. Different modem settings, carrier settings etc...

Glad to see Samsung attempting to stay up to date! Security is a good thing for everyone :).

Yes, exactly as posted above.

This was my first security update after the Oreo rollout Inc the march security patch.

I'm fully aware there will be differences. 500Mb + is a big difference though. ( most posting here are Exynos like me at a guess, some BTU, some carrier )

I'm exynos, on Vodafone Ireland and it was 341mb
I do think my battery life is better after, it went down a noticeable bit after Oreo update but seems to be back to what it was

I just got the security update for April on unlocked Note 8 on Virgin Mobile Canada. Mine was over 400 MB.

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding your post but I was on April security patch before oreo update. I believe so anyway. Unless April came with oreo I haven't had a security patch update since before oreo:)

EDIT: lmao I need to take my *** to bed or something. I just looked and I'm on March update. My bad. Lol. I don't know why I thought I was on April.

Yeah Jewels, I don't think any of the Major Stateside Carriers have put one out yet! Every post that I've read has been and Exynos Processor, an Unlocked phone and outside the US, that has received an April Security Update. AND, if you noticed, there are several different size files! We'll have to wait and see what Big Red, AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint come up with here in the US!
