I've installed ES File Explorer and also FTP Server on my 2013 Nexus 7. I can then establish an FTP connection from my Mac to the Nexus 7. However, it's always read-only.
What do I have to do to enable write access on my Nexus 7?

I tried AndFTP, and it works well for what it does. But I'm looking for an app like Droid NAS which turns the Nexus into a server, which can be seen in Finder on my Mac. There are some known issue with Mavericks and Droid NAS. The FTP server type apps I tried allow file access from Finder, but as I mentioned, read-only.
A cloud drive like dropbox is not what I'm looking for either, although it could act as a middle man for file transfers.
