Stopped by my local BB this morning to see what the story was, if any were coming in a shipment soon, etc. The girl at the counter in the computer area said "we don't carry it and won't carry it because there's a lawsuit. You could try to order it online for store pickup though." WTF? If BB B&M won't carry it because there's a lawsuit then you're not going to be able to order it online and pick it up B&M. So I asked her to look it up in their system and see what other stores had them. She said nobody had them because of the lawsuit. I told her that other stores were showing them in inventory online, and she said that they were probably open box returns and wouldn't look to see if anyone had them because there's a lawsuit so they won't sell them.
Then I pointed out that Amazon got a shipment yesterday and is promising 1/25 for delivery, and she said nothing. It's not wonder that BB has gone down the toilet when your staff and throwing out lies and excuses for simply not having stock. If you treat your customer like an idiot, they'll find somewhere else to shop.
And now Amazon is out of stock (unless you want to pay extra from a 3rd-party vendor on the marketplace). Why, oh why do people constantly give me BB gift cards? The only reason that I ever shop there is because I have the gift cards, and it's always a painful and frustrating experience when I do. I should've just said to hell with it and bought at Amazon and found some poor bastard to buy the BB gift cards.
EDIT: Called the store after I got home to see if someone could look it up, they say they're getting more stock on Thursday. Mark one up for the "highly educated and competent" staff at Best Buy.
