Is there any compatibility issue between Sony SBH-80 Bluetooth Headset and Samsung Galaxy S4?
The Play/Pause and Prev/Next buttons of Sony SBH-80 do not work with Samsung Galaxy S4. Only the call Receive/Reject and volume Up/Down buttons work. What could be the reason? Has anybody come across such issues with any other Bluetooth headset with Samsung Galaxy S4? Any Solution?
Here are the troubleshooting I have done so far:
1. Unpair all bluetooth devices and try afresh with Sony SBH-80
2. Clear both data and cache of "Bluetooth Share" and "Bluetooth Test" under application manager
3. Disable "S Voice" under application manager
4. Boot in Safe Mode
5. Re-set Sony SBH-80
6. Try other music apps like PowerAmp in addition to the stock one
7. Try with helper apps like "Headset Droid". This app has a kind of debug mode to detect bluetooth headset key presses and it does not detect any key press including the working call Receive/Reject and volume Up/Down.
8. Tried installing Sony Smart Connect official app to check if that helps.
None of the above steps (individually or in combination) have helped so far. Whatever I do, the Play/Pause and Prev/Next buttons do not work.
However, the same SBH-80 works absolutely fine with my Samsung Galaxy K Zoom, Apple iPAD-3, Dell XPS Laptop and JVC Car Audio. It works fine with other devices (tested by my friends) like Xiaomi Mi3, Micromax phones, etc.
