Are slowdowns common on Android ?

Because I have slowdowns on my phone and I read that these are common problems to android because of ways android is design and that these problems will never go away

Well, that is not really true.

You need to be a lot more specific. When do the slowdowns start? What app are you using that is slow or, more likely, what app did you last use before the phone suddenly became slow overall?

What make/model phone?

How much memory does it have? How much used/unused?

Do you play games? If so, name them.

Which phone do you have? There are Android phones from less than 100$ to more than 700$ and, of course, performance will vary, a lot. Maybe your phone is having some specific problem or just need a bit of basic clean up. Give us more details and we'll try to figure out why it's slowing down and crashing.

Nope. If you got 2015 low-mid ranger or 2014 flagships and above, slow downs and random restarts will be very rare.

Android are designed to keep most of apps on the RAM until if it is full android will dump the oldest app opened. And android doesnt need any management from us most of the time. If you like managing, closing/force stopping/swipe out from multi task window, yes you will see slow downs in opening applications.
So far i know random restarts are mainly caused by bad battery.

Oh yeah:

Do you have a battery saver / battery monitor installed?

Are you using the stock launcher, or one you downloaded from the Play store?

Do you have any apps installed which did not come from the Play store?

Is your phone rooted?

Slowdowns are not super common but, as others have said, brand/manufacturer and life of the phone are all variables. What kind of phone do you have (sorry if you've already mentioned that!)? What about software updates - have you updated to the latest version?

Hi,
Its not a common problem of slow down in android phones. It depends on the apps and the phone you are using. If phone configuration is not good in the terms of RAM,Android version etc, then this problem is common.
Thanks.

Not for me... If anything my LGV10 is faster today than it was when it was new. I have only needed to factory rest it once since it was new in December 2015 (knock on wood).

As a blanket statement, this is far from the truth. I have a Nexus 6P and, even on custom ROMs and the N beta, I can count on one hand the number of reboots that have happened since I got it in December (and all were due to my fussing with system level stuff.). And while I've had an occasional slow-down, when I looked into it they went back to an app that went haywire.... or something with the N beta (which is prerelease, so it's moot).

Android is very stable... if your phone isn't stable, then either the OEM completely butchered the operating system or you have some misbehaving app/service that is causing everything else to go south.
