Are the 1st generation P30 lite screens compatible with the 2nd gen phones?

[Android Central Question]

Hi all,
Recently wrecked my 5 month old p30 lite while working on a building site. Took it into a repair shop only to have the guy there tell me that my phone was an updated version of the 2019 phone with a slightly different screen to the original.
Can anyone tell me if this is actually true and moreover: if the two are compatible.

GSMarena.com, my go-to page for specs, lists different types of LCD for those devices - one as an IPS LCD and the other as an LTPS IPS LCD. Does this mean they're different? Possibly.
