I am thinking about getting the Galaxy Note and I see lots of people with the dock in the same order. Phone on the left then Calendar, email, web and applications from left to right in that same order.

Can you move them from that order or add your own applications to the dock at the bottom without rooting or using a different launcher? Thanks for the info guys.

Yep!

You have to change the organization to"customizable grid within the applications menu.

I replaced one with a camera app. No more searching when that perfect photo op presents itself.

You sure can. The process is:

Applications/menu/edit/switch to customizable view

At this point you simply drag and drop the icons or apps you wish into the dock and arrange them according to your preference. Be sure to select menu/save before returning to the home screen and you're all set. :)

Note: You can change or customize the first four. The applications icon to the far right must remain.

Galaxy Note! Phone. Tablet. Planner. Notepad. eReader. The only device I need!

I went mad trying to change this... and then I installed a launcher - and it magically worked. I knew I could change the page dock / quick access bar icons somehow because I got it working on my friends phone. I think I installed a launcher to get it working on hers too. I have no idea which launcher I used on her phone but I installed Nova tonight on this phone and I can now change the icons with ease. My advice would be, "install a launcher" (you choose which one).
