Are the exposed gold pins for NFC?

NFC is a radio. I am guessing we will see some sort of dock coming that we put it in and it charges or something.

Actually those are for contact charging. Essentially they make docking to a dock much easier as they only have to touch instead of being inserted to charge and transmit sound.

They're called Pogo Pins. They're for docks. The Galaxy Nexus has the same setup.
