Hello fellow Android-friends,
I have a problem right now - with what "the market seem to think" what the customer wants. According to all the new "flagships" out there, the customers obviously want their phones to be bigger, bulkier and heavier. Also the trend goes into hundreds of MegaPixels and heavy-duty multicore-processors +"AI" ... and resulting from all that, a decent energy consumption and therefor huge batteries.
But what about a "reasonable" phone that "just works" and still fit in a pocket?
I would love to have my phone match the following criteria:
If necessary, I'm also comfortable with rooting the phone and flashing an alternate OS (like lineageOS or similar). But I'd prefer the device being officially supported by lineage (not just a random build by a guy, that might disappear tomorrow). It should also be possible to get Updates from within a booted Android (it shouldn't be necessary to reflash or go into recovery for that).
Any hints or recommendations are greatly appreciated.
Thank you guys already in advance.
Best regards

I would love to have my phone match the following criteria:
- small (4.x inches)
- exchangeable Battery
- microSD card
- a reasonable camera (for some casual snapshots) ... maybe >=10 MP
- a working and up-to-date Android OS!!!
- I'd like to have a "modern" Android 12+, without any bloatware, so that I don't have to 'wait' for my phone when browsing or just "using" it
- I still want updates
- I want it to have USB-C
- I'm skeptic regarding cheap "no-name" chinese manufacturers (at least in regards of Software)
