are there any better tablets than nexus 7 now?

Nothing comes close in the less than 10" form factor and nothing in the same pricing stratosphere. The Hisense Sero Pro was probably better than the 2012 N7, but the 2013 seems to have suppressed that argument. In the 10" form factor there are obviously the Asus Transformer Prime, Nexus 10 and iPad Retina that compete in different ways, as well as the upcoming Asus Trio.

he pretty much nailed it. If you are looking for a 7" tablet, this is the best on the market. If you are looking for something other than a 7" device, you would need to specific.

the short answer: no.

the long answer: nooooooo.

if you need anymore than this, you should probably be looking at a full fledged laptop. while 10 inch tablets are a nice size, most are slower and less resolution -- and the ones that aren't are going to cost a pretty penny.

Not until Apple does something with the mini, whenever that happens. Then I would argue that it still isn't the "best", just better than it's predecessor. It's all about preference; Apple-people will argue that the Mini is still better because of the "tablet-specific" app library, and the simplified OS. Personally, I don't see it. But to each his own, you know?

Must not be. Even the Apple fanboys on iMore are wanting to know why if the Nexus 7 has such a great screen resolution then why doesn't the iPan Mini have one.... When the Apple fanboys are jealous after reading all the comparison articles between the new N72 and the iPad Mini you know you have the best tablet.

I saw one writing an article trashing the nexus 7 with complete hypocrisy.

for example, they tried to say that 323 PPI was too high, saying that was too small for the eye to distinguish pixels anyways.....yet the iphone5 and ipad both have a 326 PPI screen.....it's really silly. then they tried to say that 'oh well the ipad mini will get a pixel dense screen of its own too'. so first they're ragging on the nexus 7 for having to high of a PPI, but praising that the ipad mini will also get the same if not better in PPI. that's the logic of apple users, and that's why I steer clear of them. they're just morons with too much money to burn. they don't buy ipads to have functional devices, they buy ipads as if they were jewelry.
