Are there problems with my phone?

Hi guys, I hate to be a Debbie Downer, but I have my phone for a few days now, and I really want to love it, but there are a few problems that are distracting me. I want to compare notes with people here to see if it is all in my head, or if there is really something going on.

1. Reception: I definitely get worse reception with the Fascinate, than I ever did with ANY other Verizon phone that I have had. My Droid 1 was rock solid. The Fascinate gives me 1-2 bars in my house, and even dropped my internet connection twice the other night. Reception is the same everywhere else. I work 40 miles from where I live, and reception is not great at work either.

2. Call clarity. I can hear everyone fine and I am happy with how others sound. On the other hand EVERYONE comments to me how they are having trouble hearing me. My wife won't even talk to me anymore unless I call from a different phone.

3. Lag: When I wake the screen sometimes I am greeted to a lit screen that has my wallpaper, then 3-10 seconds later my icons show up. Moving between screens is extremely laggy, and I do not even have that many icons or widgets on my screens. In fact only 3 of them even have anything, the rest are blank.

Guys I really want to love this phone, so let me know if my experience is abnormal, or if this is just the way the phone is, and I can get over it. Thanks.

If that was normal, it would be unacceptable. It's not. There is some discussion about signal strength being an issue, but the rest of it sounds very unusual. I would get a replacement.

Don't settle for something that's not going to work for you, no matter how pretty it looks.

I'd say there is definitely something not right going on with your phone. My reception is similar to other VZW phones I've had in the past and just about everyone I call asks right away "did you get a new phone? You sound SO much better!"

The only time my phone lags at all is when I first wake it up and unlock it but that is due to my Beautiful Widgets animations (it didn't lag at all before). I just can't bring myself to turn off the eye candy (yet).
