Are you going to order the Pixel 5?

I have a brand new unlocked 64GB Pixel 4XL (not on Fi), and was curious what the trade-in would be. It's only $335 for the 64GB and $365 for the 128. I get that they were trying to reign in the price, but this seems like a double slap to P4/XL owners, given that they were way too expensive for the offered specs, at the full price.

I also think that they are missing out on one of the easiest and best features that they could offer for Pixel devices–unlimited full quality photo storage. I was kinda thinking they might revisit this with the Pixel 5, especially given their processor decision. This could have amped up the "bang for the buck" for this device.

Going back to unlimited full res photos after not offering that with only the pixel 4 series phones would have done exactly the opposite and angered people who bought into the 4.

$699 will stop many from buying it. Whereas $599 would have the pixel 5 potentially flying off the shelves. Which is why the S20 FE is such an entreating option for so many right now.

Just look at the pole numbers, things are looking even worse.

Overpriced? Compared to what's out there spec wise, I think it's competitively priced. The regular Note 20 was over priced, it didn't even have 90hz screen. If Google can do with 2 rear cameras what others do with 3 or 4 that'll be awesome.
Please explain how you can do the work of 3 or 4 cameras with 2 cameras.

Telephoto and macro cameras don't really tend to be very strong, or good. If Google has their super res zoom algorithm dialed in to where it can do what the p4 and 4xl could do with a secondary telephoto, the regular lens could potentially do the work of a telephoto lens too.

Anyone find it odd that Samsung is offering $350 for a 4XL in trade for a S20 FE?

Yeah, I didn't hear that one. That's a bit odd as well.

Yeah, because I'm sure Samsung feels challenged or threatened by Google a little bit. Even if some people don't agree with that statement it's the truth I'm sure.

Yeah that’s definitely a good one ..I can understand not offering so much for other brands if you are stingy but your own brand ? I’m over it ...lol

Yeah I hear you! I mean at the end of the day, it's all business decisions and business marketing of course. That's what drives me nuts. And it's a multimillion dollar industry. It'll never end. Samsung feels threatened by Google. However, purchase whatever phone will make you happy. Done deal.

TMobile will give you $500 towards an s20 FE (it any Samsung phone) if you trade in a pixel 4. Not a bad deal right there

It’s all good ...I don’t ever let it stop me from buying a phone I want ...gotta see the lay of the land haha

Oh trust me I hear you completely! I try not to let it get to me, sometimes it's harder than not but I buy the phone that I honestly want to buy. But usually at this point in my life means pixels. Lol.

Oh, my friend, hell yes! I couldn't be more. And for the people on this forum that think I never had a Samsung Android phone before I have. Maybe not with one UI and it was with TouchWiz, but nonetheless a lack of software updates just poison your thinking about Samsung unfortunately. I know that Samsung just released their news of promising 3 years of software updates AKA like Google phones, but this was just a recent occurrence. I still love pixels For The Win!

I don't know where you come up with the theory that telephotos or macros don't tend to be very strong. Perhaps you're limiting it to Pixel but that doesn't work because they don't have a very good optical telephoto. Regardless, no matter how many algorithms you play with, you cannot do the work of 3 or 4 cameras with 2 cameras unless you go with an optical zoom or telephoto and a larger sensor.

I tried the note 20U and sent it back due to inferior camera and software compared to the pixel 4XL. I just don't like Samsung's software UI with all the colors and such, not for me.

Yeah that's a lot of the similar reports I've been reading / watching on YouTube reviews. The note 20 another Galaxy phones cameras they're impressive hardware but they can't back it up with the software. Basically, the camera takes pretty good pictures but not outstanding pictures unfortunately.
