For all the Pixel owners out there - are you going to spend the money and upgrade to the Pixel 2, no matter what? Or are you going to wait and see what the specs/color/pricing options are??

99% yes. Obviously we know a lot about it already, so unless there's a major surprise, this is the phone to beat for 2017.

I have a V20 now, but if the hardware is similar to the renders and available on Tmo, I might get the blue one. The bezels on the first Pixel turned me away.

While I am completely satisfied with the current Pixel, I'll wait until the announcement and and make my decision then. Things like improvement with water resistance just aren't strong motivators for me, but if the hardware design is better. aesthetically .. maybe. Right now, I'm probably 60% yes.

I got the Pixel XL last week for a reason. I worked at Best Buy for 5 years. When I heard that LG was making the new Pixel I was kind of turned off. Granted, I did work with the TV's but it was an absolute nightmare. I couldn't believe they were still selling TV's. I know the G6 is one of the best phones that have ever run android (not sure if this is accurate) but I prefer an HTC phone over an LG phone. I did have a terrible exp with the HTC Thunderbolt years ago but that was a long time ago and technology has grown lol. My Pixel XL runs so fast compared to my previous device (S7Edge). TBH probably never going back to Samsung phones. The Pixel is friggin butter!

There still is an HTC made Pixel 2 (the smaller one) - but important to remember that HTC and LG are merely the factories, they have no say in the design, components chosen, etc. This is unlike the Nexus program, where they were contracted to be heavily involved in the process with Google providing direction on aspects of it.

Ah, interesting. I still think it will be a good phone regardless.

I'm probably deluding myself, but I think I loved my Thunderbolt. There were aspects I hated about it, like Verizon sucking at updating the thing and that's what got me into custom ROMs, but that was a great phone for the time IMO. A lot of people had issues though, I got lucky.

Yea the no update thing was a wreck. Many issues :(

Well I have a Nexus 6 and I'm definitely getting the new Pixel XL. The Note 8 is now out of the running. I just can't stand that tall and narrow screen.

Decent picture that seems reasonably accurate:

I've never been so excited to see a camera hump before. Google has little use for OIS, so the camera not being flush can only mean one of two things; the top part of the phone is thinner than the current Pixel, or the camera module is larger.

Please be the latter...

Not that it matters, but by all accounts I've seen the Note 8 will most likely be taller and wider than the current XL... not Nexus 6 width, but I wouldn't ever describe it as narrow.

It looks long, tall and narrow to me... sorry.

Project Fi user here, so I know that I will be upgrading to the Pixel 2 or 2 XL.

I ordered the Nexus 4 on release day. And the Nexus 5 and the Nexus 6 and the Nexus 6P and the Pixel XL.

Might as well do it again! :)
