Are you going to upgrade to the Pixel 2?

I am with VZW too - can walk to the store - which I will be doing on the 5th, if that is the day they are released. I have until then to get used to larger XL. TBH, the Pixel 32GB was be the best and most comfortable phone I ever owned.

I have Verizon too. Did Verizon load their apps on the Pixel and Pixel XL? The only app I like to have from Verizon is the my Verizon app so I can pay my monthly cell phone bill.

I believe there were 3 VZW apps on the original Pixel - all could be deleted easily - turned out to be no big deal.
I plan to get a Verizon Pixel 2 when they are available.

Can't decide whether I want black or white. I assume your phone had Verizon tramp stamped on the back of the phone too? (Just watched a YouTube video. No Verizon stamp on the phone.)

What annoyed me most about my HTC 10 from Verizon is every time you deselect 4G, you receive a notification box you must acknowledge.

I'll probably go with the unlocked version unless I can get the XL unscathed by Verizon. Just got an update for my HTC 10 from Verizon. Now YouTube is being crazy casting videos to my Sony TV running Android. No more!

2, I'm on T-Mobile, and happy with their network, but know that this phone won't support the new 600Mhz bands on which they are expanding. I'm sure the 2018 model will, so it's a matter of, if having that compatibility when the 2018 releases will make a functional difference for me, an I willing to commit to buying the phone this year knowing I could feel an actual need to buy again next year.

...

Are you having signal issues now with TMO? Is it too slow now for you? What usable benefit in the 600mhz band in the next year or 2 would be enough to pass on the phone?

I broke down and bought an unopened Pixel XL resale. I couldn’t get right with paying so much for an LG Pixel 2 XL day one. Need to give it some time and see if it is worth the premium over my LG Nexus 4, 5 and 5x. I really like the Pixel XL (HTC) build quality, very substantial, especially next to my 5x.

Good questions!

I rarely have issues now, but from what I've heard 600Mhz will offer better in-building coverage which would be nice on those rare occasions I travel places where that has been an issue.

And while I don't know if 600Mhz band will be offering higher theoretical speeds than the current bands, the fact that the vast majority of traffic on T-Mobile's network will be on the other bands should mean better real world speeds on a device supporting it due to less general congestion. Looking at the degree to which increased data traffic has slowed down AT&T and Verizon networks, having one that gets to go in the less trafficked lanes has its appeal.

Varies by location. On AT&T with my Pixel XL I didn't get WiFi calling and often would have MMS issues with people with Samsung phones on T-Mobile. So I switched to T-Mobile. I had to switch to Verizon because in urban Kahului (Maui, Hawaii) I would barely have signal in many buildings. Now on Verizon I see lower frequency band being used and I get solid coverage in the same locations that I couldn't with T-Mobile. I have no doubt that when 600mhz rolls out for T-Mobile in the same areas that I had issues coverage will be good for devices that support it.

I bought my Pixel XL the day it dropped. I am a huge Google services fan - I use many of them. I am a freakin' Google Local Guide. I am all in.

But, the horrible BT stuttering problem that is so pervasive on this Pixel platform, and Google's lack of progress on fixing it, makes me very doubtful about buying a Pixel 2. There's some chance I'd go for it, b/c I love everything else about my Pixel, but I'll wait to hear what others report once it hits the market next month.

Listening to music, podcasts, etc., is important to me. I will not go another year without that capability. So, next month I'll either get a Pixel 2 b/c others report that BT works, or I am going for another phone.

I am torn on rather to get the Pixel 2 128GB or spend a little more for the Pixel 2 XL 64GB. I will be getting and ordering it on launch day, just trying to narrow it down. I am leaning towards the 64GB XL....

I have always had 32GB version of phones so that is why I think I would be safe with 64GB...battery life is why I am leaning towards the XL. I just got my wife the Pixel XL and her battery lasts like nothing I have seen before.

I know it's a hundred dollars more but unless you're scrapping to save just get the XL 128 and be done with it or you'll be remorseful with less memory if that's what's partially driving your decision.

Android O will support bluetooth 5.0 by the way. I think if there was a stuttering problem with bluetooth, HTC would have pointed this out to Google. Never had a problem with my HTC 10.

I'd definitely recommend the XL

Man, I'm really torn on this decision. OG Pixel is the best device I've ever own. I mean, it fits the way I use technology perfectly. While I'm excited about the announcement next week, I haven't made up my mind about pulling the trigger.

This time last year, I was already sold and was just waiting on pre-order details. This year, not so much. Maybe it's because I'm a 'software before hardware' type user and I don't see what I would be advancing in that department with Pixel 2 around the corner...

Ha Pixel 2 XL will replace my aging Nexus 6. I just need it to last through October lol.

I'm using a Honor 6X atm and I have been looking forward to the Pixel XL 2 but if the rumored price is correct then I have may have to pass. It is kinda hard to justify almost 1k for a phone. I may just pick up a used HTC U11.
