Honestly, finally saw one in the flesh today and the XL really did fall from the ugly tree and hit every branch.

With all due respect that's an opinion which not everyone shares. Even if we were to consider it fact, beauty in a device is for the most part superficial and irrelevant except for the sole purpose of attracting you to buy it. It may be important to you and I get that. If that's your priority, than there are lots of other pretty phones out there.

Ha ha no. Too expensive, not enough on board storage and the whole scratch/mark issue would drive me mad too.

All these phones are expensive got live a little . If we don't buy expensive gadgets we blow our money other ways . It really not a bad phone.

XL 128 Just Black. Love it and the battery life is icing on the cake. Notch isn't an issue as I was using a X and XS off and on over the past year so I'm fairly used to it.

Onboard storage. Im all in on Google and my 64 Gig uses something like 18 Gig.

Maybe, but much as I could probably talk myself into not hating the ugly face, price and 128gb storage as someone who rarely uses cases the scratch prone back is definite a show-stopper. I am pretty careful with my phones use them naked all the time and I sense it would look a mess quite quickly

Have an original Pixel. Couldn't hold off. The force was too strong.

I'm going to let reviewers get ahold of it next week. If the 3's screen (LG) is as good as the 3XL's screen (Samsung) - then I'm getting a Pixel. I'm not ready to go back to a big phone. I just don't use my phone for that need of extra screen real estate.

After owning an iPhone 7+ and playing around with XS and Note 9, I’m not a big fan of these extra large screens and much prefer a more compact and single handed use device myself...I got a 3 preordered

I know! They are amazing! Some of my favourite pictures from my wedding were pictures taken with smartphones. Now, obviously real cameras do better work; but smartphones have certainly come a long way since days and years past.
