This probably not a great place to ask this being that this is the v60 forum but just curious. Are you happy with you decision to purchase with the v60? All my past purchases have been with the note series starting with the Note 2. Thinking of moving from Samsung to v60 or velvet? Just having a hard time deciding on which one? May need to wait for the velvet to come to the states so I can go look at it before deciding. I appreciate any input you have. Thanks

I was in a similar spot a few years ago. I was a Samsung and HTC user. Having Note 4, S6, S7 Edge, HTC M8, M9 and M10.
Then Samsung had a crappy update on my S7 Edge and i got a V40. I liked it. Then i thought S20 Plus or V60. Well i got a V60 and am happier with it than i was with my V40.
With the specs being similar but price almost $400 difference and i lucked out as TMO was offering a Buy one Get one free promo so dang hard to pass it up. Yes i am happy with my V60.

Thanks for responding. Glad you are happy with it. Just pulled the trigger on it. Should be here in a couple of days. The guy at T-Mobile was a good salesman. He has one since it came out and let me look at his with the dual case. He really loves LG phones.

I had the V40 for almost 3 years and I was looking to upgrade. I looked at the V60, OnePlus 8 and the Galaxy S20, and decided to go with the V60 (Being used to the headphone jack with DAC helps) at the end of the day...

I can tell you I love this device and when I actually use the dual screen (about twice a week) it's flawless for me. I'm glad I went with the V60.

I've also had many Samsung phones with a couple of Motos thrown in there. Then I went to am LG G7 and I can say hands down it was the best phone I've ever had and far superior to Samsung.

So naturally I updated to the V60 I do like it a lot but there are only two things that annoy me. The first is no face recognition. Not sure how I missed that one before I bought it. The second is the in screen finger print scanner is not as good as the build in one. Maybe it's my screen protector and not the phone.

jmssarno, Thanks. I appreciate the feedback, looking forward to using this phone.

sushiguy732, thanks for the feedback. Well i probably will feel right at home with the v60 then. My Note 10+ has face id but doesn't work 3/4 of the time and the in screen finger print scanner hardly ever worked when i had the screen protector on. Finally took the screen protector off and it worked about half the time. Got where I pretty much just use the pattern unlock all the time, so this is normal for me. i showcase your feedback. Last LG i had was the curve and i loved that phone, then went with the Note 2,3,4,7,8,9,10 and decided to go back with LG this time somewhat due to Samsung's pricing, but mostly because of the dual screen, pen support, and battery of the v60.

Compared to other current offerings, the V60 ticked more boxes than anything else. Compared to the V20 I came from, there was a lot of tradeoffs that I don't like. Overall I'm liking the phone, but it hasn't been my favorite.

I'm curious what was so much better about the V20? I had that device a while back and I loved it, but the V60 is faster, better screen by a VERY wide margin, better camera, better battery, etc. Not arguing, just curious what you liked better?

The V20 had a metal body, removable battery, IR blaster, bezels (especially the chin; I'm now constantly typing one row above where I want), secondary screen functions, Q-slide floating apps, no annoying notch blocking out the main display, no gimmicky 64MP sensor (pixel binning is good, but full 64MP resolution is junk) and the app had 30 second maximum exposure in manual mode regardless of the lens used (the V60 is 30s wide angle, 20s main).

When it comes to the screen, it's more nuanced. I prefer an LCD screen over OLED any day due to the risk of OLED burn in. I do admit the V20 had an image retention problem on its LCD screen, but that was something defective in their particular design. Other phones didn't have that problem, including other LG phones. Outside that retention issue, the V20's display was still very nice.

Performance wise, the V60 has faster raw processing power, but the V20 held its own quite well. Everything ran smooth, including gaming. Raw speed isn't everything.

I also loved the quality of the microphones in the V20, but I've yet to put the V60 to the test. My favorite video I recorded on the V20 was a jet dragster race from right next to the starting line. The V20 handled that amount of sound like a champ. I'll be going to another race this weekend, with the same access, and I'll be doing the same with the V60. I expect it to perform just as well, if not better, in that regard.

This is my first LG and overall it's a decent phone though there are some frustrating bugs such as disconnecting wifi, poor fingerprint detection, losing gestures when not using the stock launcher, and the stock launcher itself isn't good. Would be nice to root too but that's not allowed. I do like the awesome battery life, dual case which I use almost every evening, and the snappiness of the device. That said I got mine via a Sprint lease one get one deal and my father-in-law is paying for the lease. So mine was free. Otherwise I wouldn't have paid for it. I still have a Pixel 3XL that I tend to activate at least on the weekends. The V60 is a Sprint sold device but actually uses T-Mobile towers while my 3XL uses Sprint towers. I get better signal using my 3XL when we are at our camper.

I use action launcher, gestures work fine.

I loved the LCD screen, the 16:9 screen ratio, the headphone jack and the ir blaster on the V40.
I liked the removable battery too but after 2 years I never could find a decent replacement battery.

You guys are starting to make me nervous! Broke down and bought the phone, being delivered today. After 7 Note phones i needed a change...

Haha I bet you enjoy it fully ... We break down everything around here ... That's what happens when you try a few phones ... Lol

Yip, we're a bunch of enthusiastic geeks, and we are generally more critical than the average consumer.
