Pre ordered the XZ2 from Best buy today. Should have it next Friday. Was undecided between green and silver, but went with silver since it hides fingerprint better. Will be selling the Essential or Pixel 2 XL to make room, most likely Essential.

Would have gone for the compact if it had wireless charging.

I think I read it's coming to Amazon on May 20th along with other retailers. Initially just best buy.

May 20th is what I read for Amazon as well. I'm really interested to hear your thought as I'm interested in the green XZ2. I'm hoping Amazon does a deal with Prime exclusive pricing.

That sounds right. I have nothing against Best Buy but I prefer my favorite retailer along with Amazon for the 30 day return period. The retailer gets an up though since no sales tax, which is nice for me.

Gotcha, waiting is hard sometimes. Yep, B&H is the one for me. Also because of where I live, I can get it the next day so I really love them lol.

I just received my XZ2, so far I am really liking it. The software is fast and responsive. I can't wait to put the camera to work tomorrow.

Congrats !!! Sony software has always been awesome. Their camera is always below the top cameras so will be interesting to see how they do. I'll be comparing mine with Pixel 2 XL and iPhone X so it'll have to meet a high bar

Should have, I'm on T-Mobile and most unlocked devices do support volte and wifi calling on T-Mobile. Will check and confirm, currently installing system update.
First thing saw AVG protection crap pop up and can't install that, only option to disable. C'mon Sony this isn't a carrier device

Don't see option for Wi-Fi calling (no big deal since don't use that on other phones). Just finished updating, it updated to the latest security patch (April)

I have the Hong Kong variant with 6gb of ram and it doesn't have an option for VoLTE either. But from what I have read, if you make a phone call and the phone still displays LTE than it is using VoLTE. If it drops to 3g than the phone doesn't support VoLTE.

Yep no VoLTE as of now, falls back to HSPA+ when on call.

Not sure if they will/can enable later (Wi-Fi calling and VoLTE). Wi-Fi calling won't use, VoLTE is nice to have but I'm not on that many calls so not deal breaker.

Same here for VoLTE. It is nice but not necessary. WiFi calling is a must for me, but I found a work around with Google Voice's new WiFi calling feature.
