Re: Buy/exchange for S7 edge or stick it out with note?

So someone in the tmobile thread said Tue replacements are coming in?

Re: Buy/exchange for S7 edge or stick it out with note?

I went back to the edge. Got $150 best buy gift card while doing it. I mean besides the S-Pen, there's not a big enough difference to me to say 1 phone is far better than the other. I think they both are very good phones and you can't go wrong with either one. Both serve a specific user. Because of this whole fiasco I was able to get $40 in gift cards, gear fit2, 256GB SD card and $150 best buy gift card to end up with the phone I started with which I consider to be just as good.

A couple things I noticed in my edge too is I have much better wifi in a corner of my house and cell signal overall in my home. Wifi thing is more noticeable since I use the phone in that area of the house often. Internet would crawl with my Note and I would have to switch wifi off until I left that room. So for me some things are better. But writing on the screen with the S-Pen was crazy cool! But I am over it.

Finally someone with some common sense... Thank you.

It's funny how nobody bats an eyelash over recalled vehicles and yet... wets the floor over (35?) out of 2 million (?) phones
"Automakers recalled a record of 51.2 million vehicles over 868 separate recalls in 2015, the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration announced Thursday at the Washington Auto Show. That narrowly edged the previous mark set in 2014, when manufacturers recalled 51 million vehicles through 779 recalls.
Very true. I'm still waiting for my replacement Honda airbags.

Re: Note 7 to iPhone 7 anyone?

Yep i can't stand IOS :D

Note 7 taking wayy too much fire(pon intend :) and i think the sales will be quite low compared to what it should be, after the recall Samsung need to make sure we can easily verfity what phones have the new battery, and to put some compensasion as well as lowering the price.

In my area all the people that wanted Note 7, but the S7E and never looked back, they say that they will pass the note 7 even after the recall.

Yes. Any chance for Note 7 to get decent sales after recall, is to give 50% discount for new Note 7.

When that day comes, all of us early Note 7 adopters are going to look severely stupid and become a bigger laughing stock than what we already are.

No more buying of new phone on its launch day ever again for me.

Say what you will, I really enjoyed my weeks with my Note 7. More than any phone I've had. I turned it in because we're supposed to even though it performed very well. So in the mean time I'm using the S7 Active. Although this is a really good phone, I miss my Note and it's featutes. If I hadn't had the Note, this phone would seem awesome. The battery lasts 4ever! Well not quite but I did get 24 hours normal use (for me) and still had juice left. No other phone I've had can even come close to that.

I played around with the edge again at best buy to the point they probably thought I was going to take it, it kinda grew on me today with the swipe feature. I would think most note users would automatically gravitate to the edge phones, they are pretty close in size and other features except the pen. I also played with the 6plus, rows and rows of icons might get boring so I'm still on the fence about the 7 plus. Though one concern ive heard about the newest Samsung phones is the speaker sucks and the phone isn't very loud, this might bring the 7 plus more into play with it's stereo speakers for me.

Yup, same here.

I've never done it before the Note 7; I'm usually the type to spend weeks researching, and the one time I decide to "just do it" it bites me in the ***.

Same here. I bought the S7 a week after launch. Never again will I pre order. I very nearly pulled the trigger on the 7 plus today but it wouldn't let me pick up in store and I wouldn't get it for almost a month from now.

Did you buy the unlocked version there? What do you think of people who return the Note 7 to their carrier then hop over and buy the unlocked edge? I'm still keeping my Note 7 in the box and hoping in a few days the government gives the green light to let them change them out. It sounds like some Best Buys' already have the phones physically but have to wait to give the go ahead. Someone even posted the pic of the new boxes on this forum.

I don't want to get burned and return the Note 7 and buy an edge and a day later the Notes are released. I'm trying to hold off as long as possible.

LOL...people keep saying they're going to this phone or that phone. All being released at least a month away.

You're going to have to exercise patience either way.

Took mNote7 back to Verizon today and got a refund, then i went to BestBuy and got a Moto Z Force and a free $200 gift card and the JBL speaker mod.

It's a real nice phone camera isn't the best out there but that's fine with me, so far it a super fast phone and no lag at all.

Still not leaving the Note 7. I'm fortunate to have my Note 5 that I've started using again in the interim, but there's several features from the Note 7 I'm missing quite a bit. I'm anxious for Note 7s to be released again for exchange/sale.
No phone I'm thinking of purchasing mostly because I can't seem to "quit" the sPen functionality. Sure wish I could... Mid-range cost phones have been getting steadily better the last couple of years.

Hey I'm not knocking the Note. It was a very solid phone for the time I had it. Resale is important to me since my wife has no desire to take it over once I'm done with it (I just gave her my S7E) and that's as big as she's willing to go. If I buy another note before the N8 it will probably be a N4. If you do not care about resale value and they can actually get these phone back in circulation before November then I say be patient, but do turn your current one in. There really is no need to play with fire.

I am using my Note 5 until the new Note 7's arrive. I returned the Note 7 to T-Mobile today. I wanted to hang on to the Note 7 until the replacement was available but now no one knows when the new Note 7's will be coming out as they now have to be retested.

Note 5 was a decent device, but the battery life was terrible. myself I've been doing a lot of thinking and I'm going a TMobile store later to give back my note 7 and order the iPhone 7 plus I still have my S7 edge in the house which would which will hold me over. I'll be back with Samsung when the S8 releases next year. Doesn't hurt to try out new things

Are you new to iOS? Just asking because if you are, there are differences...not saying one is better than the other, just that some functions / abilities are done differently.

Re: Buy/exchange for S7 edge or stick it out with note?

I took my N7 back to AT&T last week and got the S7E until the N7's are available. The phone is not bad, just hate the more pronounced "edge" on the S7E compared to the N7. Plus, it only has 32GB of base storage which I guess is ok, since I have the Samsung 256GB card.

Every time I pick up or set down the phone I launch an app that I happen to touch that is closest to the edge. Ordered a Tech 21 case for $9 on Amazon yesterday to protect the phone if I decide to swap back and to see if that helps with the edge issues I'm seeing.

I really liked the N7 and even though I didn't use the SPen a huge amount, I was going to set aside some time and really work on it. I just hope that the US government does not delay the new N7's from being available for months.
