I am not rooted just want to know who is and why are the main perks of rooting and is it worth it

I too am not. From what I understand rooting enables you to customize various options within your phone. Honestly, I don't know much about it and I'm not savy enough to benifit from rooting. I've never been one to install leaked updates, root or any of that stuff.
