Are you rooted? Why or why not?

Am not rooted, mostly because of security and secondly because I don't see the need. Android is already as open as I need it to be.

I kind of feel like you do. At some point, i would like to try it, but i'm not splitting the hard drive on my Mac, and i don't know anyone with a PC, who would let me use it for the purpose of rooting.:p

I'm rooted because it's the only way to use a feature that should be free without paying for it - tethering.

Also so I could run Google wallet and flash custom roms at will.

So how are nandroid backups made? And okay thank you! Is there a difference between I747U and I747M as far as rooting/roms go?

Im rooted because I believe you should have as much control over your own device as possible in terms of customization, removing bloatware, kernels, UI tweaks, and of course, ROMS,ROMS,ROMS!

Nandroids are made from using a custom recovery such as clockworkmod or TWRP. And I'm pretty sure there's not much difference but that depends on the rom

Rooted because I wanted, needed, and use the extras that jb has for my galaxy note. Will stay rooted because developers give upgrades sooner for no money while corporations get paid to not give out upgrades
