Are you switching to the S9/S9+?

Last night I preordered the S9Plus through Tmobile chat. I'm on JOD so will be returning the Note 8 - the nice thing is the S9Plus ships to me, and I get to keep the Note 8 for about 2 weeks before having to turn it in. If I end up not liking the S9Plus then I simply return it and keep the Note 8. I think I'll probably enjoy it.

Down the road a few months I may get another Note once they're discounted more, and have as a 2nd device- maybe.

Liking my Tab S3 more and more - it pairs well and has the S Pen :)

I am switching from a S8 to S9+. A bit concerned with the size but S8 is a bit narrow for typing; now the difference between the 9/9+ is much more than size.

S8 camera wasn't that good so excited about this and the overall performance improvement.

S8/S8+ were great phones so I was not expecting much change but refinement on certain areas.

I think S9+ delivers on both but not great specs are different to each size now.

Nope. I played around with the S9+ at Best Buy this morning and the fingerprint sensor (FPS) is in a worse position than last year's S8+. The S8+'s FPS location wasn't ideal, but at least the right index finger rested near that area. On the S9+, I had to shimmy my hand down the device to unlock it. It was actually more annoying than unlocking the S8+. For those of you with Pixel 2 XL devices, the FPS on the S9+ sits lower, which requires hand gymnastics to unlock the S9+.

Hard pass.

I think the same will be true for me as well but because the positioning of the sensor is worse, it's because I got use to this sensor for almost a year lmao

I have used the S8+ a year now 64gb internal as we all know I went with a 64gb Samsung micro sdxc. I have roughly about 220 apps I use apps2sd and out of all those apps I have managed to send about 7gb of apps installed to the sd card that also includes a hand full of games. And I have managed to keep 40 gigs of free internal space. My point of this is to show it's not hard to manage internal space. When I travel I install content directly to the sd card whether it's YouTube Netflix Amazon video or spotify for music.
Would in theory be fine, but need the space on the card for media, photos and game ROMs. The issue is total space. The 128gb is offered everywhere but America. Seems lame and probably due to the 845 versions not having the option. Just the Sammy chip version. The more I think about it I'm cancelling the pre-order. Speakers are nice and camera as well, but the 8+ still rocks. Plus the FM radio works. The demos last year worked, but demos this year do not. The 845 might not have the FM radio feature.

Added: Also less issues swapping cards if needed, since no apps binded to the card. Nope just like leveraging the cloud (not a fan for media), I find apps2sd a constraint for my own use.

The S9 is a bit wider than the S8. IMO it's the perfect size. I agree that the S8 was a bit too narrow.

The S9 is also a bit thicker. It certainly felt different in the hand than the S8 when I compared the two in the T-Mobile store.

The S9+ also feels bigger in the hand than the S8+.

Just keep all that in mind if you like one-handed use all the time. The regular S9 is more ideal size wise than both the S8 and the S9+.

The glass was thickened 20% to help mitigate cracks. Also tougher metal for frame.

I'm enjoying my dual camera, 64gb of storage, 6gb of memory and a large screen on my Note 8. I feel this year was a phone in option in the new S9 series. I hope they have some great surprise for the Note 9 or I'm not going anywhere untill the next generation

Note 8 and Plus still rock. That said, the faster chip for emulators, better camera and kick butt good speaker quality are nice to me. Still on the fence, even though preordered. 8 Plus is fine. I keep noticing the speakers though and great low light pics, plus optical zoom..... The fence is getting shaky.

Preordered tmobile. Got a ups shipping update already. Expecting to get early next week.

Same but I ordered the S9. Liking the size of my Essential so went with the non plus. It really doesn't matter as I'll be jumping to the 9+ next month and then onto something else a month after that. I change phones monthly.

Do you buy cases when you change that frequently

I literally just bought an international exynos version of the S8 after my G6's screen shattered. i only paid $400 brand new off Amazon, so I dont see any reason to switch to the S9 for a physical aperture and a few fake animojis? I'm not that gullible. Also, im not a professional photographer and the S8 takes incredible photos. to upgrade for minute changes in photo quality is conspicuous consumption at its finest and is not something I subscribe to.
