Are your back door hinges/tabs breaking off already?

My two top hinges/tabs have broken off already.

I've had two warranty replacements so with the hour long tech support calls pulling out battery and all that combined with changing batteries every once in a while.. it seems they've gotten too much wear even though I don't take the back off often at all?

I'm super careful with electronics so I don't understand how they broke other than it was a stupid setup.

Anyone else having this problem and will Verizon send a replacement back? Think a Verizon store would give you a new back?

One more hinge and and I definitely won't even be able to snap it in place anymore - and I will be owning this phone for a long time.

Sounds like you're ripping the battery cover off more often or more forcefully than you ought to be.. In any case I'm sure you can find a replacement battery cover on ebay or something for a few dollars :)

No I rarely take it off. Perhaps I'm being too forceful?

I guess I'll go into Verizon and if they dont bite I'll buy one.

You are reinstalling it incorrectly. Look VERY closely at the tabs. They are tiny, and very easy to get above the case, and force them down, into the back. You must put the bottom of the back in first, then hold it in place while clicking the rest in place. I have never been able to get mine back on without holding the bottom down. Look closely and see if they aren't bent down onto the back. Use a finger nail, gently bend them back out some, and see if the back won't work now.

You can find it here: Galaxy Nexus

Did not check eBay but I am sure that you can find them cheaper on there. Also, if you shop Amazon, be aware that there is a scam product on there sold from a third party seller that does NOT fit the LTE version but it claims that it does.

I had one tab bend on me already. The cause: me being in a hurry to put it on. I just carefully bent it back. Starting from the bottom to top works best.

Wow. I take off the cover at least once a day, many times on some days. No problems at all. I've never gone out of my way to be gentle, but I'm not a maniac, either.

I bought a few extended batteries and they come with new battery covers. If you don't have one, they were $25, I think permanently, at the Verizon store. Why not spend a few bucks and get a better battery?

I bought a replacement door off ebay for $9 shipped. The bottom right tab broke off on mine. I consider myself a careful sort, too. But it happens.
