I put area codes in every phone number I have just in case I get a new phone with a different area code, which would then require me to change all my contact information for a lot of people.

What exactly are you seeing that is an issue with this, what is not displaying properly... what are you seeing?

Yeah, it's a fact that Android and Sense does not have decent phone number formatting logic. I guess it never has. This also disappointed me with my first Android phone (TBolt). I've learned to cope by always making sure my entries are in the format of (xxx) xxx-xxxx (MS Outlook auto-format). Even if I save it temporarily in a raw format (xxxxxxxxxx) to make a call. I go back later and fix it. PITA.

like if I save 836-6566 under john doe , when I call 836-6566 it will say john doe , but if he calls me it will put the 866-836-6566 with no name under it .

I would guess you just have to save the full number I think my BB was like that too...

Agree... my BB was worse... you had to have the dashes with one OS, and in the next OS of the same major release it only worked without dashes.

I shocked there are still places where 7-digit dialing actually works!

Here in MD/VA/DC we've had to dial 10 digits (for local calls) since the '90s.

I'm guessing that's part of it though, because in most major metro areas you need to always dial 10 digits...?
