Welcome to Android Central! Are you looking for a highly technical explanation, or just a basic "what's the difference"? Android has historically run on ARM-based processors, and only in the past couple of years has Intel started making inroads into Android processors. At first, the Atom processors had some significant issues with compatibility. But since then, they have supposedly improved compatibility greatly, such that around 99% of apps are compatible. In the general scheme of things, an Android device with an Intel processor should be indistinguishable from one with an ARM processor.
