I have a new EVO Shift 4G

I finally got my Gmail to push instantly but is their an application that will show me at a glance how many unread messages? I notice the GMail app itself sometimes doesn't even show an icon on top.

The phone updated to
Andoid 2.3.3
HTC Sense 2.1

What should I use for an application killer and any battery boost options.

One thing puzzles me - A friend had a Samsung Epic and any photos he took were linked to Picassa which is owned by Google - yet all I find is a tie in to Flickr which I don't use - I use Picassa - what am I missing?

Also other ANY tips will be appreciated.

Im not sure about htc sense and picsa, but dont get an app killer, that makes your battery worse. Android is based off linux. It manages apps perfectly fine on its own, app killers mess the process up and will use up your battery. For battery saving, turn off mobile networks in places where your roaming or have little bars, or just dont use internet on your phone. brightness should be toned down a bit and dont make push notifications so frequently. There is an app called Gmail unread count. there's an OLD free version or a new one for .99cents. or go to the market and search for a gmail widget.
