As An Alternative To Flash, Do Our Phones Have HTML5 On Them?

As everyone knows, Apple dropped flash about five years ago and since then more and more security problems with flash have been reported and people are moving away from this video encoding/decoding technology. The only alternative I'm aware of is HTML5. Does android use this and, more specifically, does the GS5 come with this?

What do most of you use for video playback on your phones?
