Asphalt 8 won't work

Hello. For some reason I can't use asphalt 8 on my device. I've successfully installed it from the playstore and when I click on "open" it goes to the app, it shows the developer's logo for a second and then it closes and I'm taken back to the playstore or the apps list (depending on how I opened it), it does not give any mesages such as "app stopped" etc. Any ideas? Thank you.

What I've tried so far: reinstalling a few times also uninstalling and wiping cache partition and installing the app, those did not help...

Not sure what you are dealing with but I just installed the free version of Asphalt 8 on my AT&T Note 4 and it worked through the tutorial. I did not continue since it is not an app I will keep on my phone, but it did work like I expected it to.

What carrier and what version of Android?

I am in Europe and we don't really get carrier specific models. It's the Exynos variant. It is running Android 5.1.1

That may be the difference..Snapdragon versus Exynos. The US versions use the Snapdragon SOC.

Ok, so I disabled the developer mode and the app started working. The only thing I tinkled with in the developer mode as far as I can remember is the animation speed... Not sure why it affected this app.

That is most likely the reason why the game would not work. It's called "developer options" for a reason and not available by default.
